Skyhook Wireless Announces MyLoki
Wi-Fi-Based Location Sharing Service!

GyPSii Skyhook wireless announced a new cellular service today called MyLoki.

Using your current location, MyLoki can show friends where you are - check out my email signature for an example. They’ve also added a Facebook application, and integration with Jaiku or anything that supports GeoRSS.

MyLoki location-enables social networking, keeps your friends up to date on your location, helps keep track of where you’ve been, arrange get togethers with friends in your current area, and much more. To check it out, request an invite code now.

There are a number of location-based systems in operation today for mobile networkers. GyPSii, a service that is recently mentioned and discussed on Symbian Freak is once such brand.

Skyhook, however, intends for Loki to communicate user data across multiple platforms as users demand it. With MyLoki, the company enables users to achieve ever greater syndication, wherever Wi-Fi access may be found.

Loki is presently compatible with all manner of operating systems, including desktop-specific names like Windows XP and Vista and Mac OS X, as well as Windows Mobile and Symbian S60, the most prevalent smartphone platform today in the world.

And if you have a Facebook or Jaiku account (Jaiku, a tool born of the microblogging craze, is a Google-owned brand), or have the convenience of access one or more RSS feeds that support GeoRSS, MyLoki will function as it should.
