Look, a new Palm device powered by Windows Mobile!:



Unfortunately photo above is just a mockup - it is a newly launched Palm Pixie powered by WebOS (Linux-based OS from Palm). We were hoping that after Palm Pre powered by WebOS, Palm will release at least one model powered by Windows Mobile but it looks like it is not going to happen.

Note: Windows Mobile -powered Palm Treo Pro still is on sale but it has poor camera and looks like an outdated phone nowadays.

Commentary: the last chance for Palm to present some new Windows Mobile phone would be October 6, 2009, when Microsoft will be launching big time the Windows Mobile 6.5 together with Windows Mobile app store, but unfortunately in a related announcement that lists Windows Mobile manufacturers launching phones with Windows Mobile 6.5, Palm is missing in action. Conclusion: Palm has dumped Windows Mobile for good! If you want to have Windows Mobile phone, then forget about Palm!
