In a Microsoft annual Techfest event earlier this week Microsoft has unveiled new mobile prototype LucidTouch which addresses the problem faced by the users in using the touch screen devices, currently fingers blocks the graphical icons of the touch screen devices, the new LucidTouch technology tries to overcome this problem by controlling the graphical interface from the back of see-through device.
This technology won’t let your fingers block your browsing or navigation in touch screen devices like GPS systems and mobiles, the users will be able to interact with the device from the backpanel. The device also support multi-touch input, you can use all your fingers simultaneosly to operate the device.
“The key to making this usable is what we call pseudo-transparency,” said Baudisch. “By overlaying an image of the user’s hands onto the screen, we create the illusion of the mobile device itself being semi-transparent. This pseudo-transparency allows users to accurately acquire targets while not occluding the screen with their fingers and hand.
Each year latest research in computer technologies are displayed at Techfest in Redmond. Check out related posts if you want to read more of such technologies.
