Samsung SGH-i550 gets an Wi-Fi connectivity

Samsung has announced SGH-i550 few moths ago, very well equipped S60 phone with lot of handy features packed into candybar form factor but unfortunately without the Wi-Fi connectivity.
Now SGH-i550 got even better, Samsung has recently started shipping a new updated i550w version for Asian and Middle Eastern markets, which also includes Wi-Fi connectivity.
What is the most interesting in whole story is the fact that both phones are based on the same hardware!? Our Jackal has found that both version are based on the exactly the same hardware with the the wi-fi chipset inside but because of the some strange reason, SGH-i550 software is castrated and lacks the wifi support!?
What a ridiculous move, for what it’s worth? Hardware is there anyway and why not enable it on all models?
If you know something more or if you know how to enable wi-fi functionality on the classic i550 please join discussion and help to our TheJackal13 to get the wi-fi!
