A conservatively styled slider, Sony Ericsson Yari focuses on gaming, promising a whole new user experience. It offers gesture-based gaming somewhere along the lines of the Wii video game console plus dedicated gaming keys for the other titles.

And with Yari there’s always a new game to play. In addition to gesture games, there is a mix of pre loaded motion and standard games. Yari introduces a games carousel that allows you to access all your games from your desktop and to browse downloadable content on PlayNow™ arena. You can view content by category and choose to browse free or premium content – so no matter your preferences there’s one to suit you.

Just shoot
Packed full of features the Yari will give you the best picture possible with Face Detection, finding up to three people in the frame at a time and Smile Shutter™ which automatically picks out beaming smiles. Snap up to nine images in quick succession using BestPic, pick your best and delete the rest.

Night shoot
With the Yari you can be confident of getting the perfect shot. The phone incorporates the latest in lighting technology – Photo Flash – giving you better quality pictures even in low-light conditions. Also, a light solution has been added to the established BestPic™ feature – which lets you take nine photos in quick succession, choose the best and delete the rest. So now you can use BestPic™ wherever you are, perhaps even to capture the dance-floor action in a club!

The Yari comes with microSD expandable memory rather than Sony's Memory Stick Micro. There's a 1GB memory card
